How Did The Week Go ?
This has been another week where real life has been in the driving seat. It's that time of year when work really goes into overdrive ! The situation isn't helped by Hive's price right now, which is giving me a strong lack of mojo.
The reality is that the value of my Hive account with all I've earned over the last 3 years is pretty much identical to the value of fiat I invested. I would hope that in due course Hive will turn a corner and the price will come back up. I think that depends more on developments within Hive itself, because it doesn't rise on the tide with other altcoins when crypto markets generally are in a bullish mood (which they definitely aren't right now !)
However, I do recognise that if Hive's price does go up, then the effect will be exponential. My current plan is to extract liquid HIVE and HBD, and also to get out of Tribe tokens entirely apart from the half dozen I'm specifically interested in. That should enable me to withdraw some of my initial investment without powering down any HP.
The hard bit is working out how to turn HIVE into BTC, LTC or some other mainstream crypto in a reasonably simple way without losing too much to fees. It's made harder because the UK government and tax authorities are so ferociously anti-crypto, despite occasional meaningless announcements they make to the contrary.
So if anyone knows a good way that my poor simple little brain can comprehend to turn HIVE into BTC (or whatever) that works in the UK, I'd love to know !
There are two bright spots, however. My HBD interest came in this week, at 36.196 HBD, which is pretty respectable. It means I'm 95% of the way to my annual goal, and one more interest payment should get me there.
The other bright spot is slightly more obscure and complex. It's an interesting project which may make some money (or totally might not, who knows !). I used the amazing Hive Report Card made by @holoz0r to download all my posts.
Then I took one of the serials I wrote in the Worldbuilding Community, put all the text into a Word document, and stripped out all the code, tags, links etc. The plan is to take the creative writing I did in Hive for that serial and turn it into a novel. It's going to be a lot of work, and I'm not sure if it will be successful yet ! If it looks like it will be, I'll probably write a post or two about the process....

I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
