En esta ocasión traigo sobre la mesa un tema peculiar en el mundo del baloncesto estadounidense; NBA Cup. Este torneo es un campeonato que juegan todos los equipos de la NBA divididos en grupos de sus respectivas conferencias (Oeste y Este).
¿Qué puede tener de polémico un torneo de baloncesto profesional? La forma en la que llega al público. Los aficionados de la NBA han tratado de demeritar su corta existencia argumentando que es una copa que no se compara a la historia de la NBA o que solo sirve para inflar estadísticas.
Las críticas que este torneo ha recibido me han inspirado a hacer este vídeo en el cual comento cómo la NBA por medio de la NBA Cup busca reforzar la identidad de uno de los deportes nacionales de Estados Unidos: el baloncesto.

What is so controversial about a professional basketball tournament? The way it reaches the public. NBA fans have tried to demerit its short existence by arguing that it is a cup that does not compare to the history of the NBA or that it only serves to inflate statistics.
The criticism that this tournament has received has inspired me to make this video in which I comment on how the NBA through the NBA Cup seeks to reinforce the identity of one of America's national sports: basketball.
