💞 This post is dedicated to a very dear friend of mine who loved strawberries. 💕
for 'Steven James' aka Tomo

Some of you may not know that over the past 5 months I've been caring for a friend who had unfortunately, been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in June of this year.
One of his favourite foods was strawberries and so naturally, during his stay, we planted some strawberries along with many other things.

Being such a difficult time, when we weren't at the hospital, we'd spend most of our days outside in the garden, just enjoying the simple things in life such as sunshine, nature and fresh air.
During that time, we planted, we watered, we talked, we shared, we lived, we laughed and we loved.

However, it saddens me to tell you that he lost his battle on the 15 November and while I will miss him and his gorgeous smile, I will not remain sad, for now it is time to celebrate his life and to be thankful for the times we did share.

The very first strawberry to ripen was promptly plucked from the plant before the birds became too curious about the plump red fruit on display. And although, I did plan to take photos of my 'breakfast'... the strawberry was just so juicy and fresh that once I cut the stalk away, I popped the whole strawberry into my mouth, without thinking.
And It Was Good..!
Without a doubt, it was the most delicious strawberry I had tasted in very, very long time.
PS. Hug someone you love TODAY... I know I've said it before but this experience (along with the current lock-downs) has really shown me that time is short and the future is NEVER certain. With that thought in mind, I recently rang my (ageing) parents and siblings, to humbly let them know how much I loved and missed them.
Especially if your family is somewhat distant or estranged, I urge you to do the same. xxx
Until next time... xxx
Be safe and stay sane... ❤️❤️❤️
