As we did not manage to do this, we received a severe reprimand from the doctor on the day we went to have the casts removed.  By indulging her, we had harmed her, we had let ourselves be carried away by her fears, and it turned out that this was not ideal because now, with the casts removed, she is finding it difficult to achieve the goal of standing up by herself and walking unaided.  ### **The Day the Casts Were Changed** The day the casts were changed was extremely exhausting. We had been sleeping late and waking up late for many days, and on this day the appointment was at 7 in the morning. We got up early, but we weren't seen until around noon. And the moment we entered the cast room was the worst moment for her.  ### **Fears and Coping Strategies**   I was able to apply everything I had taught her about breathing and meditation so that she could control herself and overcome her fear of having the casts removed. The fibula is intact, which is what allowed him to stand up so soon.  ### **Inspiration and First Steps** The most emotional moment of the day was when the doctor in charge of the plaster room that day, with all the patience and mystique possible, set out to lift her up and make her walk. He was so sweet and managed to inspire her and give her courage. It was very powerful, and each step reminded me of the first steps of the little mermaid in Hans Christian Andersen's original story. It was a commitment, and we kept it. Learning to balance empathy with motivation is challenging, but it is essential to helping them overcome their fears and strengthen their self-confidence. 3. **Celebrating every small achievement:** On the road to recovery, every small step counts and should be celebrated. La mayor parte de estos 21 días Amelie debía estar caminando. ### **Instrucciones Médicas y Desafíos** Sí, caminando con yesos, esa era la instrucción de su médico, mantenerse de pie desde el día 5 y dar pasos caminando desde el día 10. Cómo esto no lo logramos, recibimos un gran regaño del médico el día que fuimos a retirar los yesos, por estar consintiéndola la perjudicamos, nos dejamos llevar por sus miedos y resultó que no era lo ideal porque ahora, con los yesos ya retirados, no le está resultando tan sencillo lograr la meta de sostenerse de pie por ella misma y caminar sola.  ### **El Día del Cambio de Yesos** El día del cambio de yesos fue sumamente agotador, llevábamos muchos días durmiendo tarde, despertando tarde y este día la cita era a las 7 de la mañana, madrugamos, pero para finalmente ser atendidas cerca del medio día. Y al momento de entrar a la sala de yesos fue el peor momento para ella.  ### **Miedos y Estrategias de Superación** Pude aplicar con ella que practicara todo lo que le he enseñado sobre respiración y meditación para que pudiera contenerse y dominar su miedo al retiro de los yesos. Es increíble ver lo grande proprio al ente con su pierna que se ve la placa que es un dispositivo que le adaptsron pegado a la tibia, además el tornillo y la separación de la tibia intencionalmente fracturada, impresionante. El peroné está intacto y esto es lo que le permitía estar de pie tan temprano. ### **Inspiración y Primeros Pasos**  El momento más emotivo del día fue cuando el Dr. que estaba encargado de la sala de yeso este día, con toda la paciencia y mística posible, se trazó la meta de levantarla y hacerla caminar, de verdad que fue tan dulce y logró inspirarla y darle valor. Fue muy fuerte y cada paso me recordó a la primera caminata de la sirenita en la historia del cuento original de Hans Christian Andersen. Así que al salir del hospital busque el restaurante de sushi más cercano y fuimos a parar en uno llamado Cheg Margaro, primera vez que lo visitabamos, en La Florida. El lugar está muy Cool pero no me gustó su menú, me sentí miserable escogiendo qué comer.
