Very funny things happen to me, because not always what I have devised is the final result, sometimes I have very specific fixed ideas, other times I just give them color palettes and let them be more free, but they are always the final decision makers and owners of their art which I feel extremely fortunate to bring to the world. What do I see when I look at our bags? A vibrant tapestry of colors, woven with love and steeped in centuries of tradition. That is the essence of a Wayuu bag or backpack. They are not just bags; they are wearable art, and each one tells a story of the indigenous Wayuu people of Colombia and Venezuela. We already know they are more than just accessories: they are a celebration of culture and craftsmanship. Originating from the Wayuu people of the La Guajira peninsula, these bags are a testament to the skill and artistry passed down from generation to generation. Each bag is meticulously hand-woven with cotton threads, creating intricate patterns and designs that are unique to the Wayuu culture. The process can take anywhere from 15 to 30 days, depending on the complexity of the design, making each piece a true labor of love. I have already been able to bring them to town in various styles, from cross-body bags to backpacks, satchel style, envelope style, Wayuu bags are available in a rainbow of colors and designs. Their durability, coupled with their eye-catching designs, make them perfect for both everyday and special occasions. Me enorgullece muchisimo crear diseños que luego, en las manos tan prometedoras de las artesanas, es cuando se convierten en arte y es inevitable ir ahondando en su rico patrimonio cultural, su artesanía y su creciente popularidad en el mundo de la moda. De verdad, cada uno está lleno de características únicas, creo que es una de las principales razones de su atractivo y lo que los convierte en un accesorio que cada vez más personas quieren tener.  Me ocurren cosas muy graciosas, porque no siempre lo que he ideado es el resultado final, a veces tengo ideas fijas muy específicas, otras veces solo les doy paletas de colores y las dejo ser más libres, pero ella siempre son ellas, las decisoras finales y dueñas de su arte del cual me siento sumamente afortunada de llevar al mundo. ¿Qué veo cuando veo nuestros bolsos? Un vibrante tapiz de colores, tejido con amor e impregnado de siglos de tradición. Esa es la esencia de un Bolso o mochila wayuu. No son solo bolsos; son arte para llevar puesto, y cada uno de ellos cuenta una historia del pueblo indígena wayuu de Colombia y Venezuela. Ya sabemos que son algo más que accesorios: son una celebración de la cultura y la artesanía. Originarios del pueblo Wayuu de la península de La Guajira, estos bolsos son un testimonio de la habilidad y el arte transmitidos de generación en generación. Cada bolso se teje meticulosamente a mano con hilos de algodón, creando patrones y diseños intrincados que son únicos de la cultura Wayuu. Realizadas en hilo de algodón: Elaborados con hilo de algodón, estos bolsos no sólo son bonitos, sino también duraderos y cómodos de llevar. Tradición transmitida de generación en generación: El arte de crear estos bolsos se transmite de generación en generación, preservando la cultura y las tradiciones Wayuu. Producto que conecta con las raíces: Poseer un bolso Wayuu te permite conectar con las raíces de una cultura ancestral, trayendo un pedazo de su herencia a tu vida diaria.  **La técnica detrás de los bolsos Wayuu** He aprendido que la creación de un bolso wayuu es un proceso fascinante que combina técnicas ancestrales con creatividad individual. Cada artesano aporta su propio estilo a los diseños, que a menudo cuentan historias o representan elementos de la mitología wayuu y de la vida cotidiana. El proceso de tejido comienza con la selección de los colores, un paso crucial ya que cada combinación tiene un significado específico en la cultura wayuu. Con una técnica llamada ganchillo, los artesanos crean meticulosamente los dibujos que hacen que estos bolsos sean tan característicos.  Una de las características más reconocibles de un bolso wayuu es la correa, los wayuu le llaman "gaza".
