Another thing to keep in mind is that not every one of those who we meet as strangers will end up as a friend. Some endure long, others disperse quickly, but a tiny few touch our lives for good and remain. These days, it's rarer to find the rarity: an entire group that feels like home, the only real clique that you could ever wish for.
While most people would picture cliques as exclusive, arrogant, a small cohort calling the shots, shut out from the rest-I happen to disagree. It's the best clique ever-not the shutting-out tight group but a loving cocoon. It's not how many pictures we take together, how many hangouts we've had, or what we decide to do together; it's the bond that we have. These are people who can make you laugh about the silliest things without ever worrying that you'll feel stupid. They are the ones you'd share your most secret dreams with, knowing they'd cheer-on instead of laugh-at you. The ones who see you at your lowest points but still want to stick around.
A real clique is like a safety net: they carry the weight when life feels heavy, and they amplify your joy when life feels light. In a world where connections often feel shallow and friendships are reduced to likes and emojis, a group that genuinely supports each other is truly rare and invaluable. You might not talk every day, but when you do, it seems like no time has passed. You might live far apart, yet each of you knows the other’s struggles and victories.
Maintaining a good clique does take effort. Efforts need to be put into communication, trust, patience, and, yes, even forgiveness. This is because mixed signals and mistakes are truly bound to happen. But a great clique works it out, stuck together through thick and thin to evolve together instead of drift apart. And this is what distinguishes them from just any group of friends.
Through the years, I have learned that the most beautiful memories of life are not characterized by the location you were at or the achievement earned, but rather who was there with you when it took place. Those late-night talks left your heart feeling lighter; road trips had no destination; moments when everybody just erupted into laughter over something that no one would remember soon after.
