Children only think of themselves; grown-ups think of others. God commands us not to think only of ourselves but the interests of others. This is a difficult mental shift because we are naturally self-absorbed and almost all commercial advertising encourages us to think of ourselves only. ‎ ‎But as far as Christianity is concerned this should not be the way of a believer. Jesus said we should love our neighbors just as we love ourselves. We should be aware that we have a responsibility over people around us that are in need that are less privileged than us.
