Despite Adam had animals with him but it wasn't good enough for companionship. So what God did was to create woman for Adam using his rib, so as to serve as a companion and a help meet for Adam. ‎ ‎Notice that God created one woman for Adam and not two or more, because one woman was enough for him. The original program of God was for man to form a marital union with just one woman and not more. Polygamy is not God's original plan for we to practice. One of the purpose why God desires for a man to stick with just one woman is for the purpose of teaching us how to be contented. ‎ ‎One of the things that would make a man go for another woman even when he still with the one he is married to is lack of contentment. If a man goes for a second wife there is every possibility that he would go for a third, and maybe even forth, and so on. That was the same case with King Solomon until he ended up with up to seven hundred wives. ‎ ‎We saw the outcome in the book of 1 Kings 11:3, how King Solomon quickly came to his end because of the multiple women he involved himself with. In our present day, we hardly see a polygamous home that there is peace in. It is hardly possible for them to live in harmony. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
