We should be careful before we open our mouth to make promises we are not sure of keeping. A better and more matured way to go about this is by deciding to make it a surprise. This way, whether the intended plan goes as hoped for or not it doesn't hurt anyone in anyway. A surprise would be much appreciated just as a promise that is fulfilled.
When deciding to do something for someone it is not meant to be done under duress or inconvenience. Whatever we are able to give or do from someone should not be done under pressure. It shouldn't be something that we make it look like we are compelled to do. It's of no point making a promise and at the end of the day we don't fulfill it. It would have been better we didn't make the promise at all in the first place.
