When Brent FC was promoted to the elite division, all the fans of the club rejoiced as it marked the end of their ten years stay away from the top-flight. The euphoria of playing with the so called big boys once again radiate on th faces of both players and the coaching crew.
Teams in the elite division strengthened their squad during the break preceding the hr new season while Brent with their meager income could not. They however retained the crop of players that got them the promotion.
When the elite league finally kicked off Brent FC was finding it difficult to compete with other teams. They were easily overrun by the other teams owing to their superior fire powers. Halfway into the league season, the glaring reality began to down on the team as a whole - relegation!
With the way both fans and players of Brent FC celebrated after their promotion a drop to the lower division barely a year in the elite division will definitely a no no. But the stats are all clear, they have to accept it and swallow the bitter pill.
Like most pundits had predicted at the start of the season Brent FC could not hang on, they could not escapé the inevitable drop with their 39 points overall. It was indeed a bitter pill for the enthusiastic team.
