Redeem christian church of God convention is the tradition that means a lot to me, the prayer, the choir singing, the decorations, many ministers of God from all over the countries. This convention normally happen every August, and for me it is not just ordinary program, it is something that carry deep meaning for my life and faith.
The history of this convention go back to many years back from the time when Redeem Church begin to gather believers together for prayer, worship and thanksgiving. What started as small gathering has now become one of the biggest Christian convention in the world. I read somewhere that it started in the 1950s, but today it is international, people dey come from every part of the world just to attend.
The activities during the convention are always a powerful ones. There is praise and worship, where thousands of voices sing together and the sound just fill everywhere like heaven on earth. Many invited guest artist like Dunsin Oyekan, Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, Moses Bliss and many other ministers will ministers with spiritual songs.Then there are prayers, teaching of the word of God, testimonies, healing sessions and even seminars for families, youths and children. Everybody have their own part. Even people that cannot come physically still join online or watch through TV broadcast.
What really touch me most is the crowd. See millions of people within the redemption camp, you see people from Nigeria, from Africa, from America, from Europe, even Asia all gather together in one place just to praise God, you go understand how big this Redeem family is. It shows that God’s word no get boundary.
For me, attending the convention is like refreshing my spirit. Renewal of strength, it is remind me that I am not alone in my faith. Anytime I leave the program, I always feel more closer to God and more ready to face life.
That is why this Redeem convention means a lot to me. It is my own tradition, it is my own encounter, it is my own unity, and it is also my hope. And every August, my heart dey full of joy because I know I will meet God again in a special way.
