Not quite long I just pick u an history textbook just to see what I can learn about, it is from there I learn about Korea independence. Reading that book opened my eyes to something much deeper the story of Korea’s fight for independence.

Every rising nation you see today has is own story of it started, Korea was under japanese rule for good 35years from 1910 to 1945, life was extremely hard for the Korean people. They lost control of their land, their culture was pushed aside, and even their language was restricted. I cannot even imagine how painful it must have been to feel like a stranger in your own home.

What I read in the book that stood was the March 1st Movement in 1919. Thousands of Koreans gathered in protest to fight for their freedom, waving flags and shouting for freedom. Many of them were arrested, and some even lost their lives, but their courage left a strong mark on history. Reading that alone I could almost feel the power of ordinary people coming together to say, Enough is enough. here they show a strong fight for freedom in unity.

Finally, in 1945, when World War II ended, Korea regained its independence. I can picture the joy for the people of Korea and must have felt families crying for joy, strangers hugging, streets filled with celebrations. But at the same time, independence also came with challenges. Soon after, the country was divided into North and South, which is still part of the story of Korea today.

What I admire the most about the citizen of this country is how much Koreans value their freedom and culture, the love and respect for each other. From their traditional clothinglike hanbok to their modern pop culture feels like everything feels like a celebration of who they are and what their value is. Reading that book made me realize that behind every K-drama scene or K-pop song, there is a history of strength, pain, and survival.

It is a story that shows us how powerful hope can be, even in the darkest times. It shows that we must fight for freedom to win and make history.
