# Hello everyone! This is me, your AmerrEffect from City of Naga, Cebu. I hope everyone is doing well, stay hydrated as we welcome the sunny season of summer.
It has been a while since I last posted because I have been dealing with a lot of personal stuff lately and this makes me missed a certain thing which is blogging. Today, I am very much happy to share about my prom experience before I graduated in my Senior High School. Since this is like a once in a lifetime experience, I never missed a chance to participate and create memories with my teachers and classmates.
###### In the earlier weeks of March, we were informed already about the prom so I decided to look something nice that I could wear for the event. Good thing, we were able to find an affordable suit rental just within the town. The moment I tried to fit the outfit, I immediately decided to choose it because I could say that it looks good on me and it perfectly fit in my body frame. The fitting makes me feel more excited!

On the most awaited day – the prom day, well I felt a little bit of excitement so I woke up early to make sure I had my haircut done and cleaned my shoes. Checking everything to make sure it will be all perfect. So, around 5 in the afternoon I took a bath and preparing myself because the program will start at 6pm, no travel rush because the event will be held at the gym near our house, it’s like few steps away. When I arrived at the venue I saw my classmates all dressed up and smiling, we even make fun of each other by our different looks because we all look so formal, literally not an ordinary day for all of us.
While looking around, I could really appreciate how the place turned out to be a majestic place for the night. The gym was beautifully decorated with flowers, red carpet, and lights and everyone are wearing their best dresses and suits, this makes me appreciate this kind of event because everyone is doing their best efforts and look so different in a better way. At exactly 6pm, the program started and it went smoothly from dancing to singing. We took a lot of pictures before the program started. I made sure to take photos with my close friends and teachers because I wanted to remember this special night forever. During the program there were speeches, dance performances, and games. The most exciting part was the cotillion dance where we were partnered with someone to dance with. I know its normal but I felt a little shy but later on I just enjoyed the moment.
As the night continued, we had dinner and then more dancing. The music was so hype and everyone seemed happy and enjoying the moment. My sister was also a teacher in our school so she was also around during the event and by the time the host giving us a special dance to those someone we would like, I picked my sister and went to the center to dance with her. Even though it was a bit unexpected, I felt proud to have her by my side even we aren’t that close. Some of my classmates were surprised, but they smiled and cheered us on. We both laughed while dancing and just enjoyed the moment. It felt nice to share that memory with someone who means a lot to me. Since she is also a teacher at our school, I knew it made her happy too.
##### After that, the music went on and we all went back to the dance floor. Everyone was enjoying the dance freely, taking pictures and making the most out of the night. There was so much joy in the entire place it was just a gym but it turned out to be a perfect place for all of us and for a while it felt like we had no worries at all. As the event was almost over I looked around and realized how much I was going to miss high school and the people who were part of my journey., That night was not just about dancing or dressing up… it was about feeling connected and thankful for everything we had gone through together.
*That prom night reminded me how important it is to savor the moment and be with the people who matter. This literally became one of my favorite senior high school memories to be treasured. I am really thankful that I didn’t let that chance pass by.*
