The best memories aren't always documented. Have you felt so too? I think I've spent the most times with people who made it worthwhile and forgot to document it. I mean I laugh effortlessly, and just stay free like a bird around these ones. Especially with a person you see every "Eke Market Day" (In a very long while.) On that note, I would love to respond to this prompt, and I'm actually posting here for the first time.
Tell us about your best friend from childhood. How did you meet? Are you still in touch?

I can't really figure out how we met because it was spontaneous, but I remember Mary my childhood friend began watching out for me after I wrote her a "get well soon letter." We were schoolmates, but I was pretty sure we had met even before we figured out we attended the same school. So when we saw ourselves in school again, we were very excited. I noticed for a while, I stopped seeing her in school, so I asked after her from her classmates. I was told she was sick. I quickly brought out my pencil and wrote her a very short message. "Get well soon," But I knew I decorated the letter with sketches of flower and handed it over to Eddie, one of her classmates who lived very close to her. Few days later, Mary resumes school and badged into my classroom with so much joy. She hugged me and from that day on, I became her special one. She was one class ahead of me, which obviously meant she was quite older than I was. We became so close until she graduated from primary school. There was nothing like social media as at then, and I wasn't allowed to visit people. After I graduated, I heard she and her family moved to Ghana. Till date, I have no idea how beautiful and grown Mary would be by now,but those memories lives on. It was one of the purest form of love I experienced. Even now I'm grown, I've searched for her on social media with the name I know her for. All to no avail, maybe she's one of the people who uses a nickname on social media, or maybe she's married now and has a change of name. ![selfiecamera_2023-10-02-16-35-51-484-removebg-preview.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/amiegeoffrey/23wqbyj9AoC2qYoFCs2prgfwHkCUuJmQD139zRMdg3ktaGUR3VnWG3uGD5D1VzsfiSGcZ.png) I wish we grew up together and enjoyed more time together. But it is what it is. Everytime I wished, I recall the adage that says "twenty friends can't play together for twenty years." and I just keep hoping, someday we'll cross path again. But would we still recognize each other? It's been so many decades ago!
