___ ___  Sweet Potato is one of the important crops grown in Pakistan. It is in high demand due to its nutritional value and taste. Therefore, we chose it as our source for a good income. To get a good yield, we need timely water, fertilizer, and pesticides to protect it from pests. I want to share what I am doing based on my experience and practice. | Crop Needs Water | |--|  I first inspected the sweet potato field. The soil has dried up and cracks have appeared in it. Now it is time to water it because if you do not, the soil will become hard from below and its roots will stop growing. I have been watering it for about 10 days now, and I think I am watering it late because I have not gotten water in the last two days. | Preparation of Fertilizer Solution | |--|   Since fertilizer is to be applied along with water, there are different methods for this, but I took a drum which I filled with water with the help of a small bucket, now I added half a sack of DAP fertilizer to it and started shaking it with the help of a stick so that the fertilizer dissolves in it  It took me about 15 to 20 minutes to dissolve this fertilizer, after which I also added half a sack of urea to it and prepared its solution. I have to add a spray to this solution which can protect the roots from the caterpillars that cut the roots. All of them have to be flooded with water so that this solution gets mixed with water in the entire field and the growth of the plants increases. I have opened the tap of this drum so that the solution gets mixed with water and goes to the fields. | Benefits of DAP and Urea | |--|   DAP contains phosphorus, which provides food to the roots of the sweet potatoes so that their tubers become strong and large. Urea contains nitrogen which improves the growth of the plant so that new leaves start to form. As I mentioned above, if these fertilizers are applied to the field through flooding, their results are good and the farmer gets a better yield as his income increases. | Chloropyrifos Flooding Protects Caterpillars | |--|  Chloropyrifos ( Laros) is sprayed to protect the sweet potato π crop from insects and mites. There are two methods for this. You can spray it on the crop, and you can also flood it with water. As I have told you above, I have flooded it, which will protect me from the root-cutting caterpillar because these caterpillars eat the roots and their kernels. So to be safe from it, I have flooded this spray in advance. | Conclusion | |--|    The crop has to be kept green, and for its good growth, timely watering, proper fertilizer, and timely spraying are necessary to protect it from caterpillars. I water the field once a week so that moisture is maintained in the soil so that the roots are strong and can go deep into the soil, which allows good growth of the plant.   Along with this, I keep consulting with friends who have already grown sweet potatoes. Because their experience can be beneficial for me, I call them or ask them to inspect my field and they provide me with fertilizer and other information. A friend also suggested 25 kg DAP, 25 kg Urea, and one and a half liters of chlorpyrifos spray. He told me that if you use urea fertilizer, the plant will grow quickly and grow big because we have cultivated it in early August, so the growth of the plant is most important for us. I inspect the field crops daily so that I can get an idea in time if any disease has attacked them. I will then take action and can protect them from the disease attack in time.
