___ ___ [Pixabay](https://pixabay.com/photos/jalkhad-naran-road-kpk-mountains-3644487/) The northern regions of Pakistan are known worldwide for their beauty. Every year, thousands of tourists go to the northern region, where they can only appreciate this beauty. However, due to the recent monsoon rains, landslides, flooding in rain drains, and cloudbursts are becoming common, which not only harm the local people but also tourists, who cannot escape the disaster. My aim is to send a message to tourists to avoid going to the northern regions or the hills during the rainy season so that they can save their lives and the lives of their loved ones. | Rains Season and Cloudbursts | |--| A long series of rains continues in Pakistan and India. If these rains fall rapidly in the hilly, areas for a short time, it is called a cloudburst. This water creates a crater where it falls and moves downward at a breakneck speed, carrying away everything in front of it, be it trees, stones, or anything else. | Tourist's Deaths | |--| Some people from Punjab go on a trip to see the beauty of Swat and have breakfast in the morning on the banks of a river. These are people from the same family who go into the Swat River to make videos or photos, where the water is very low or there is no water at all. These people go so far that they start making their pictures and videos where the water flows. During this time, due to the rains, the water level in the river starts rising. The locals ask them to come back, but since these people are making their blogs, they do not listen to them and the water level slowly keeps rising. When these people see that the water level is rising, they stand on a high hill which is in the middle of the river. Now they stand on this small hill and are calling for help. The water flow has become so fast that they cannot get out of there. Within about an hour, the water level becomes so high that the water is over the top of this peak. The water starts to flow, and the stones slowly start to move. Standing on this hill-like peak, 18 people, including children, old people, young people, and women, see their loved ones drowning in the water, and in a few hours, the water engulfs them all. 20 to 25 days after this incident, there is a drain between Babu Sar Top and Chilas, which flows along the road at the foot of the mountain. It is the rainy season and a cloudburst has occurred here, due to which the water has become very fast. Hundreds of people travel on this road. When they were told not to go ahead, the tourists refused to listen to the locals and the police. There were also many deaths and property losses. | Destruction of Buner 3 Villages | |--| [Pixabay](https://pixabay.com/photos/flood-mud-building-tractor-dirt-6515464/) The Buner consists of several villages. These villages are located in high mountains. Here too, due to a cloudburst, the water swept them away. The flow of water was so fast that the people living in this village had no time to leave. There was no chance. Some people were buried under the rubble, and some were hanging on trees. Those who saw this scene with their own eyes cannot forget it. Only those with whom these incidents happened know what it is like to be separated from loved ones. The search for the people buried under the rubble is still going on and they are being rescued. | Local Population and Infrastructure | |--| Local people live, in small settlements in villages at the foot of the mountains. I have passed through small villages that offer breathtaking views. Cloudbursts not only caused the loss of local people, livestock, and human lives, but also forced some people to migrate to safer places. Landslides and floods will not only break the communication lines but also damage the roads, which will make it difficult for relief work. This is not only a cause of loss for the local people, but tourists will also share in this problem. Until the land route is restored, the tourists will have to stay there and this will further increase their problems. | Natural Disasters Cause Climate Change | |--| [Pixabay](https://pixabay.com/photos/flood-sign-downfall-water-flooding-392707/) Cloudbursts, melting glaciers, flooding in rivers and canals. All these are causes of climate change. If it is not completely controlled, it can put us in more trouble in the coming times, just as we have started cutting down forests. They are building houses by encroaching on the land of the draitourists need to know the river is being changed, but water makes its own path, sweeping away whatever comes in its way. | Precautions for Tourists | |--| Before traveling to hilly areas, tourists need to know about the weather conditions. If the rainy season is starting, then change your plans. This season ends, so plan the tour so that any unexpected situation can be avoided. If you have already planned a tour and are in hilly areas, then give importance to the guidance of the locals because they have lived here for decades, and they know the weather conditions and can inform you well. There is goodness in listening to them, which can avoid not only financial but also life loss. I hope you liked this blog of mine and you should read it and keep all these things in mind while planning your tour so that you and your loved ones are safe. | πΈππ π¦π₯ ππ | |--|
