1️⃣ If forgiveness is especially beneficial for those who are able to let go of past grudges, the invitation to reflect upon is: Do we always have to forgive? Why forgive someone who doesn’t deserve forgiveness? Should we always forgive? AND 2️⃣ If we realize that we should love ourselves more, and no one teaches us how to do so, how can we begin to love ourselves ? What can we do to feel better about ourselves?

I always say forgiveness takes a lot of strength but then forgiving someone that doesn’t deserve it, that’s a great test of strength. My faith teaches forgiveness whether you are wrong or were wronged. I’ve always believed and practiced forgiveness in little areas, maybe someone lies to you or offends you. It wasn’t till i had an experience with someone i never expected such from, i was scammed by a trusted acquaintance. What made it more unbearable for me was that he got away with everything. There was no opportunity for confrontation or retrieval. This experience made me question a lot of things, and the fact that he got away with everything. I had no idea where I was supposed to start forgiving him from. I was pissed and that anger stayed with me for a while, i noticed this wasn’t helping me. I started to develop trust issues which was becoming a habit. With the help of God, i was able to let go. It felt good and fulfilling. He didn’t deserve my forgiveness whatsoever, and I can’t tell what has become of him. I know it didn’t seem fair but forgiveness made me better. It made me see what was in front of me, and i could move on with my life with no weights. Forgiveness helps you move on, I believe it’s absolutely necessary to forgive people regardless of their offenses. It doesn’t make you foolish, neither should it make you hang on to long dead relationships. You can forgive someone and still take precautions. The most important thing is freeing yourself from the shackles of pain and the burden that comes with holding grudges. From my experience, we should always learn to forgive and move on. _________________________________________________ https://img.leopedia.io/DQmUE6J8eVW6uEXLaHNzv3DCV9efHU3cgmjikdQq85XKbG2/IMG_0133.jpeg Self value/love is very important. If you don’t love yourself enough not even people can love you. One of the ways I try to feel better about myself is affirmations. I do daily affirmations to myself while staring at my reflection in the mirror. I don’t need compliments from people to feel better about myself even if I appreciate sincere compliments. I believe I’m enough and can do anything i put my mind to. If i take notes of my faults, i work on myself. A good way to make yourself feel better is to stay away from people who affect your self confidence negatively, not run away but have nothing to do with such people. Although sometimes it’s good to put people’s needs before yours but it’s wise to remember that you’re also important and you matter. When necessary, choose you.
