Hello friends; Till today 11 September I am making some time to post here! It passed months from my last one! ๐ LEO already did great waves.
Long time no posting ๐
I was pending to continue my postings about Coconut into Philippine Culture. As I have mentioned in my Post #5: Uses of Coconut: Coconut is a staple ingredient in Filipino cuisine, deeply ingrained in the culture and culinary traditions of the Philippines. Known locally as "niyog" or "buko", coconut plays a central role in both sweet and savory dishes, offering a unique flavor profile that is rich, creamy, and slightly sweet. Here am sharing an exploration of how coconuts are used in traditional Philippine cooking. That last post I focused on Coconut oil and some uses of it.
And here we go with one more post on uses of coconut in Philippines.
Coconut Shell and Husk
Even the shell and husk of the coconut have practical uses in Filipino cooking and culture.
- Shell as Utensil: The hard shell of mature coconuts is sometimes used as a bowl or cup, especially for serving sinigang or other soups.
- Husk for Fuel: In rural areas, dried coconut husks are burned as fuel for cooking fires.
That's all for now my friends! I hope to get more time to be over here not only upvoting... Thank you for your support! Thank you for reading!
