Greetings, dear friends.
Today marks the end of July, so we're closing out the month by remembering those moments we captured some time ago in the art of photography. Last Thursday, I shared the memory of my friend Yordan and his wife Andreina's wedding, but guess what... one wedding led to another.

Hoy se termina el mes de julio, así que estamos cerrando este mes recordando esos momentos que dejamos plasmados hace algún tiempo en el arte de la fotografía. El jueves pasado les compartí el recuerdo de la boda de mi amigo Yordan y su esposa Andreina, pero adivinen qué… una boda trajo otra boda.
That's right, today's TBT is also about a wedding, this time belonging to César in 2022, another friend of mine who, by the way, is also very close to Yordan and Andreina, who were featured in last Thursday's post. Coincidentally, they also attended the same Christian congregation. Remember, the last wedding was at that same venue.
>Así es, el TBT de hoy también es sobre una boda, esta vez de César en el 2022, otro amigo mío que, por cierto, también es muy cercano a Yordan y Andreina quienes fueron los protagonistas en el post del pasado jueves. Casualmente, ellos también asistían a la misma congregación cristiana. Recuerden que la boda pasada fue en ese mismo lugar.
They are also Venezuelan, very kind people during the time we shared with them. They are currently in Venezuela, having completed their migration period in Colombia; they had also been around for quite some time. Their wedding was also very elegant, with beautiful decorations. It was also at night, and although weddings are usually celebrated during the day, I've noticed that in Colombia, night weddings are often held.
>Ellos también son venezolanos, muy buenas personas en el tiempo que compartimos con ellos. Hoy en día se encuentran en Venezuela, ya terminaron su ciclo migrante en Colombia; ya tenían también bastante tiempo por estos lados. La boda de ellos también fue muy elegante, con decoraciones muy bonitas. Fue también en la noche, y aunque comúnmente las bodas se celebran durante el día, he notado que en Colombia frecuentemente se realizan bodas nocturnas.
As I mentioned last Thursday, when we migrate to other countries we meet many people, and it's very comforting that they're not just Colombians, but we've also met many Venezuelans—many, in fact. We've even run into people from our same neighborhood where we lived in Venezuela.
Getting back to the topic, it was a night filled with many emotions, many photographs, tears of joy—especially for some of the family members of the engaged couple—laughter and jokes from those closest to us... in short, an excellent night full of joy.
>Como mencioné el jueves pasado, cuando migramos a otros países conocemos a muchas personas, y es muy reconfortante que no solo sean colombianos, sino que también hemos conocido a muchos venezolanos —muchísimos, de hecho—. Nos hemos topado incluso con gente de nuestro mismo barrio donde vivíamos en Venezuela.
Volviendo al tema, fue una noche llena de muchas emociones, muchas fotografías, lágrimas de felicidad —sobre todo para algunos familiares de los comprometidos—, risas y bromas por parte de los más allegados... en fin, una excelente noche llena de alegría.
After the ceremony was performed by the pastors of that congregation, a long-awaited moment came: my friend César had a gift for his wife. Only a few knew about it. We were all in suspense. The bride's eyes were covered, and the whole scene of complicity was set up to give the gift as a surprise. And it was a good, very good gift.
>Después de que se realizó la ceremonia por parte de los pastores de esa congregación, vino un momento muy esperado: mi amigo César tenía un regalo para su esposa. Solo unos pocos sabían. Todos estábamos a la expectativa. Le taparon los ojos a la novia y todo el escenario de complicidad se preparó para dar el regalo como una sorpresa. Y sí que fue un buen, pero muy buen regalo.
When César's wife opens her eyes, she's shocked to see her husband's gift. I think she was expecting a different kind of gift, not because the one she received was bad, but because many people imagine a giant stuffed animal, a flower arrangement, maybe something decorative, or mariachi music. But my friend César surprised her with nothing more and nothing less than a motorcycle. See for yourself!
>Cuando la esposa de César abre los ojos, queda impresionada al ver el obsequio de su esposo. Creo que ella esperaba otro tipo de regalo, no porque el que recibió haya sido malo, sino porque por el motivo muchos suelen imaginar un peluche gigante, un arreglo floral, quizá algo decorativo o mariachis, pero mi amigo César la sorprendió con nada más y nada menos que una moto. ¡Vean ustedes mismos!
This was another one of those celebratory nights where everyone went home happy, sharing the newlyweds' happiness. These are moments that only through photography can we relive moment by moment, especially when they are important and meaningful memories for those who experienced them.
>Esta fue otra de esas noches de celebración en las que todos se fueron contentos a sus casas, compartiendo la felicidad de los recién casados. Son momentos que solo a través de la fotografía podemos revivir momento a momento, y más cuando se trata de recuerdos importantes y significativos para quienes los vivieron.
