I cast my eyes across what lay infront of me. A grin slowly started to spread across my face.
The box seemed impenetrable and yet my anxietment to get inside - to see it's contents made me almost giddy. I took my knife out of it's pouch on my hip and slit the plastic parcel tape in one smooth action. Once my knife was back safely, I pulled the box flaps open and took out the padding. Then I carefully removed one item at a time. ### Yes, I absolutely felt just like a kid on Christmas morning, not gonna lie! --- Box after box I examined each and revelled in the creative sparks that began taking hold in my mind and body. It was thrilling. I carefully pulled out the contents smelling each package with my eyes closed. By now I just wanted to dive right in with my new range, but I knew that the right time would need proper preparation and I still needed to chop a slab of wax into sizeable chunks first. I derive enjoyment out of cleaving wax slabs into pieces with my chisel and hammer. But right at that moment, I was just enjoying what these items meant, what they would become, the transformation they would undergo. --- --- Awww and this company still puts in little Thank You gifts. How freaking cool! I think it's the little things like this that make me feel valued as a customer. Their products are also excellent quality. The first layer was exciting for LL as she happily accepted the big bag of green pea seeds for planting in the veggie box to train up the trellis. You can never have too many green pea seeds. --- --- Then I found the essential oils. I had ordered Vanilla, Jasmine and Coffee Bean. Coffee flavoured candles? Yes please, count me in! --- --- It was like a ritual to lay each item out and enjoy it before using it. Cinnamon bark, Lavender and Jasmine flowers and the most stunning maroon, violet-red Rose petals I've ever held. --- --- A few days later I was able to start my new range with a bang! I only had two containers and realised that I was almost out of wick sustainers, but I could make these two as prototypes. Everything that I needed was placed in preparation at the place I would need it. I also needed to warm the containers with hot water to lengthen the cooling time and produce a more even set. It's not always possible and depends on weather factors as well, but I wanted to try help it along as best I could. I felt like Mickey Mouse in the original Fantasia movie. Casting my hands across the items and each one at their correct moment came to life and in a magical flurry, my new candle range was born. I'm calling it "Forever Autumn" --- --- Jasmine scented wax decorated with fall leaves, rose petals, Jasmine flowers and gemstones. --- I'm very happy with how they turned out and with 2 weeks to go before my next advertising campaign stats, I better get a move on with making stock. The website is under a complete overhaul and I think it's going to be nice when it's done. Things are happening albeit not as quickly as I would like them to. What do you think of the products I got for my new range and my prototypes? Do you get as excited about unboxing supplies when you receive them? Let me know in the comments.
