Hand colored with colored pencils: Blue Penny Whistle

@andrewq · 2025-10-17 00:24 · Rising Star Game

A few weeks ago, friends, I showed you here in the community what was my first drawing of a wind instrument. I've done a few more since that one, but it's been a while since I last showed you. So today I hand-drawn and colored a new one. This is the Blue Penny Whistle flute. In Rising Star, you can find it identified by the number i231. Wind instruments are my favorites of the entire range available in the game.

--- But it's not just the game itself that I really like, and I even really like its music, and it's the one I usually prefer when I listen to orchestral music or similar. What surprises me most about flutes is that they can be very simple and still produce such beautiful music. After all, it's a tube with holes, but like any instrument, in the right hands, it comes to life. The Blue Penny Whistle, which I'm drawing today, is one of the simplest there is. It doesn't have valves like the professional ones, nor small pins, just the holes. With this type, you only blow in one direction and the air comes out the other. That airflow is controlled by those small holes. That's why I say its simplicity surprises me.

--- This is a metal one from the deck I used as a guide. It has a slightly chrome color and a sky-blue mouthpiece. I think that's where its name comes from. So far, you've seen how I created the base of the deck and how I wrote the flute's name on it. You also saw how I colored everything with colored pencils. Now, I want you to see the finished hand-drawn artwork. In this part, I've highlighted the colored areas with a black marker and shaded with a white pencil. This way, it doesn't look cakey.

--- Thank you so much for watching how I drew it, friends. I hope to come back soon. Hugs.
