Hand colored with colored pencils: Northern Kalimba

--- Don't worry, I'm not going to give you a technical description of what the kalimba is. I'll explain it as simply as possible. Well, this instrument is the closest thing there is to a guitar and a piano combined into one. I tell you this because it has very similar parts to both types. It's a square wooden box, with steel keys nailed to the board on the front. These keys produce the sound when pressed. That's why I told you it resembled a piano because it's the same thing. On the guitar side, it's because the wooden box is hollow inside and has an open hole. That hole is very similar to the one found in guitars, which is why I told you it also has things in common. So when you put the two together, you have a small piano and a guitar in one. But each of its modes has its own peculiarities. To play the kalimba, only the thumbs are used, but of course, that doesn't mean the musician only has to play with their thumbs; they can use other fingers. But it was intended to be used that way.
