Hola querida comunidad de Hive. Espero que todos estén muy bien. Hoy les traigo un nuevo post relacionado con el arte, con un breve registro fotográfico de una excelente artista venezolana.
El 18 de octubre de 2025 asistí al centro de arte Los Galpones, ubicado en la urbanización Los Chorros, en la ciudad de Caracas, en el que existen varias salas de exposiciones. Una de las exhibiciones que visité fue la de la artista venezolana Magdalena Fernández. Debo decir que me quedé gratamente sorprendida, ya que no conocía a esta artista. Después de ver las salas donde están sus obras, me di a la tarea de investigarla en la web. Así pude descubrir que ella tiene una muy interesante trayectoria artística, cimentada en los estudios de artes gráficas realizados en la universidad de Boston, también en el Instituto Neumann de Caracas, y en Milán, Italia con el artista minimalista A.G. Fronzoni.
Hello dear Hive community. I hope you are all doing well. Today I bring you a new post related to art, with a brief photographic record of an excellent Venezuelan artist. On October 18, 2025, I visited the Los Galpones art center, located in the Los Chorros neighborhood of Caracas, which houses several exhibition halls. One of the exhibitions I visited was that of the Venezuelan artist Magdalena Fernández. I must say I was pleasantly surprised, as I was unfamiliar with this artist. After seeing the galleries where her works were displayed, I decided to research her online. I discovered that she has a very interesting artistic career, grounded in her graphic arts studies at Boston University, the Neumann Institute in Caracas, and in Milan, Italy, with the minimalist artist A.G. Fronzoni.
Su tendencia artística está sustentada en la tradición abstracto-constructivista. Actualmente hay 2 salas en ese centro de arte, que muestran una parte de las obras realizadas a lo largo de su carrera de más de 40 años. Una característica principalísima y evidente de Magdalena Fernández es que no escatima en el uso de múltiples materiales, formas y maneras de expresar su rica creatividad, ella trabaja lo bidimensional, lo tridimensional, las instalaciones, usa grafismos, pinturas, madera, metales, textiles, materiales duros y materiales elásticos. En fin, hay una extensa variedad de materiales con los que expresa un expandido mundo interior, que además ella comparte de forma exquisita creando espacios dinámicos penetrables, manejables con un exuberante sentido lúdico. Según la misma artista, el espacio está creado para niños, y créanme que se despierta ese niño que muchas veces está dormido en nosotros los adultos.
Disfruté esta exposición al máximo, la recomiendo ampliamente, tanto a niños, como adolescentes y adultos. No se la pierdan!

Her artistic style is rooted in the abstract-constructivist tradition. Currently, there are two galleries in this art center showcasing a selection of works created throughout her more than 40-year career. A key and evident characteristic of Magdalena Fernández is her unrestricted use of diverse materials, forms, and methods to express her rich creativity. She works with two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, installations, graphic art, paints, Wood, metals, textiles, hard materials, and elastic materials. In short, there is an extensive variety of materials with which she expresses an expansive inner world, which she also shares exquisitely, creating dynamic, penetrable, and engaging spaces imbued with an exuberant sense of playfulness. According to the artist herself, the space is designed for children, and believe me, it awakens the child that often lies dormant within us adults.
I thoroughly enjoyed this exhibition and highly recommend it to children, teenagers, and adults alike. Don't miss it!
