Hi everyone, today I did a value study for the first time. Here is the reference picture of the apple.
So the aim was to see the values and copy them as it is. Let me know how it is or it should be done the right way. Let me share the process pictures.
I used only one 2B pencil and one eraser and this new drawing copy of A5 size.
First made the outline lightly.
Blocked the areas lightly which are darker, this is layer one, aim is to keep building upon this layer.
Kept building the layer and darken the areas which has more value. Used strokes only in one direction.
Darken the areas which are absolute dark like some part of the edge of the apple and shadow region close to the base. But without background it looks little off so.
Here is the background. kept working on the areas which looked off.
With all touch up and all this is the final result, this was made in 30 minutes. If you guys have any suggestion, let me know in the comments. It was a good experience making it, I'll try to do more such studies now.
