This morning felt so nice. As normal habits, the first thing I did was head to the kitchen to make my coffee. This is my first part of my day. I boiled some water and prepared my favorite one—Moccona hazelnut flavor. The smell pa lang, ang bango na! It’s always my good way to start the day. Then I made my simple breakfast, a half-boiled egg and some bread with butter. But even if it’s simple, this is my comfort food. This is my favorite breakfast ever. I like to spread butter on my bread, then dip it into the soft egg. Hmmm… the taste is so good. It may be basic, but for me, it’s perfect. After that, I bring my coffee to the balcony. I like standing there with my mug in my hands, just looking at the view, I can see the trees, a bit of the road, and some of our neighbors’ houses. The wind was soft and cool this morning. It touched my face gently. Ang sarap ng hangin. I love mornings like this.
I see a few birds flying or hear them singing. There’s something peaceful about it. This is what I always say, “Thank You, Lord, for this morning.” The children were still sleeping, and my husband also left so early to buy things for the shop. And the house was quiet. It’s my little alone-time. No noise, no rush. But mornings like this remind me to enjoy the simple things. A hot cup of coffee. A soft egg and warm bread. A cool breeze. A quiet moment. These are the small things that make me contented. And for me, this simple routine every morning is already a blessing. So that’s how I started my day. Nothing grand, but it made me feel good inside. And that’s enough.
