This was on Sunday, August 11, 2025. I have an adventure trip that unforgettable experience. It all started a week earlier when I booked a nature tour. At first, I was thinking of unwinding to relieve some stress for my operation coming this August 15. But I told myself I need this for my own comfort for all happening in life. And so, I packed my courage along with my clothes and snacks, ready for something new. Just on the bus, I had already joined even though we don’t know each other, but we are all Filipinos, and strangers to each other. The ride to the location was long enough for conversations to start. At first, it was just small talk—“Where are you from?” “Is this your first time?”—but soon the bus was filled with laughter. Somehow, the nervous feeling I had before faded away. I made friends even before reaching the place. When we arrived, the first thing we did was all go to the counter and everyone and our tour agent paid our entrance fee and gave us the wristband.
We were ready to start the adventure. I felt calm but excited, like something new was waiting for me. And it did. We chose the cottage and we put all our things, then my new friends went to the changing room to change clothes for the water adventure. The kayak (the plastic boat) and the bamboo raft, all free to go no need to pay. Since it was my first time, a bit scary, but I won't know until I try. I started with the kayak. It looked easy, and honestly, it was much easier to control compared to the bamboo raft. My new friend joined me, and we paddled together. At first, our strokes didn’t match, but soon we found our balance, hahaha. The bamboo raft was so different from the kayak. When I stepped on it, ang hirap mag-balance. Some people fell in the water, but we still wanted to try. I told myself, “If I don’t try, I will never know.” I sat with my friends and we paddled. Slower than the kayak, but it’s so much fun. We laughed hard, especially when the raft tilted and we had to lean on one side. I realized, now I know that the fair is just in our minds only.
Before this trip, I would’ve said no, because even I know how to swim, I still have no confidence. And now I here paddle with someone I just met. And we never fell in the water — we have finished it very well! The best part? Meeting new friends. On the way home, we were sharing snacks, swapping numbers, and even planning another trip already. When I look at our photos, I see courage, friendship, and pure joy. My smile there? Totally real. I was made so much of a joyful moment. This trip made me realize that traveling alone doesn’t mean being lonely. It’s actually a chance to meet people and discover more about myself. I also felt how nature can really calm you down but still give you so much energy. And the biggest lesson? Life gets more exciting when you step out of your comfort zone. I have zero regrets. I’m so glad I pushed myself to go. This was my first solo trip, but for sure, not the last. I don’t even know where or with whom next time, but this day? I’ll remember it for a long, long time. Sometimes, all it takes is one brave step… and the adventures just keep coming.
