When people talk about Penang, they always say, food heaven, lah. The market there is best place to see local food, fruits, and daily life. I go with my tour friends walk around. Plan very simple, find good food, enjoy what we see. First we try ABC, shaved ice dessert. Weather hot hot, so this one just nice. Got ice, red syrup, jelly, bean, corn, milk. Very colorful. After eat, feel cool and fresh. All of us happy, finish fast before ice melt. Next we want something heavy. We find Char Kway Teow stall. This noodle very famous in Penang. Flat noodle with prawn, egg, cockle, taugeh. Cook in big wok, smell come out strong. Taste very good, we all say must try when in Penang.
Market also got many fruit. Banana, papaya, mango, rambutan, all got. Very bright, basket full. I buy papaya bring home, family like. Seller very kind, smile when selling. We also see stall with plant, herb, spice. All use for cooking. Remind us Penang food mix many culture—Chinese, Malay, Indian. Market busy busy. People buy things, talk with seller, carry bag. Some tourist same like us, walk slowly, look here look there. Street full of life, very fun to watch. Walk with friends make trip more happy. We share food, laugh, take photo. Each one buy or try something. Not just eat, also enjoy time together.
At the end, stomach full, heart happy. ABC cool us, Char Kway Teow give energy, fruit bring home. We also see plant and spice that show Penang culture. Penang market is good place, lah. Not only buy food, also see local life. You can walk, eat, shop, watch people. If you come Penang, must go market. Sure can find good food and something interesting. They also have the Tam bun bisuit penang it’s a famous biscuit and it’s really nice, and I bought for my family and they love it. This trip and the walk is so much fun.
