On this occasion I want to show you how I transformed a two-piece dress, one with both prints, for a client. The first dress is a fuchsia-colored closed dress but it was too short for her. The second printed dress is floral and it was too wide for her, so the idea I had in mind was to make a dress from these two pieces: the skirt with the long print and the top part in fuchsia only for the bust. So we had to take it apart and cut it to be able to join both pieces.

Paso 01
Step 01
I started by first folding the fuchsia dress in half so I could cut our dress in half only at the waist. I had already marked it once before with a graphite pencil to guide myself by having the exact measurement of my client and I simply cut it keeping the dress's darts. Next, we are going to fold the floral print dress in half and I will also be cutting at the waist to take out the skirt that we will use and place the dress in the bust area.

Step 02
I will then sew the dress, sealing it at the back of the dress because I realized that the skirt still looked wide, so what I did was reduce it and sew it again. I overlocked it or you can suggest doing it with a straight seam. Then we will join the upper bust part to the skirt around my waist, sew with an overlock and straight seam.
Paso 03
Step 03
Once I have sewn it, we will sew the edge of the dress with overlock stitching again and make a 2 cm wide hem inwards and sew along the outline of the dress below.
Paso 04

Finally, we will be sewing the thin strap that came with the dress we made for the bottom part to the back of the dress. We sew vertically, adjusting the cord well with the seam, and that's how we finish it.
