With the end of the month approaching, I was completely consumed with school responsibilities, assignments, and research. I had not been showing up often in PeakD or even writing about my daily experiences, simply because schoolwork demanded most of my time and energy. Our research alone already required focus and attention, but aside from that, we also had different subjects where we needed to do reportings, memorize lessons, and present in front of the class. The weight of all these tasks combined left me feeling physically drained and mentally exhausted. Still, in the middle of the exhaustion, I tried my best to remind myself of one important truth: God is always with me. That thought kept me grounded whenever I felt like giving up. Each time I pushed through the stress of academic life, I believed that God was watching over me and guiding me to finish what I had started. It is not always easy to balance everything, but my faith has always been my strength during overwhelming days like that. ![IMG_5664.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/23vsUqmNsT4ZEaLT8w3P8xB5k9qY6MeAFYC47ZJyZVFrMSj65Vogsi7uapmqx3dexv8jE.jpeg) While I was deep in the rhythm of my busy day, something unexpected came along. Out of nowhere, my friend invited me to their house to attend her brother’s birthday celebration. I did not expect to receive that kind of invitation because my day was already filled with schoolwork and fatigue, but sometimes, the unplanned moments are the ones that bring joy. I agreed right away and told her that I would go. The problem was, I had forgotten to charge my phone, so it eventually shut down. I was planning to message my parents ahead of time to ask permission since I knew I would be home late. But since my phone was off, I only managed to tell my mother about it the moment I had already arrived at my friend’s house. At first, I felt guilty that I had not followed my plan, but at the same time, I was glad that I was able to spend time outside of school tasks and enjoy a little break with my friend’s family. Sometimes, it takes simple gatherings like that to make you realize that life should not be all about stress and deadlines. There should also be space for fun and relaxation, even in the middle of chaos. ![IMG_5663.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/23ynUGFuyRNwecrcaqSJ5bcH4TtGWogMQ7CS8pCw5YYuF1GcDzghfFoqV3neRjmEmt5Hp.jpeg) The celebration itself turned out to be a lot more enjoyable than I expected. The house was lively, filled with laughter and cheerful conversations. There was so much food on the table, and everything smelled delicious. I was grateful to be there, sharing in the moment, even if I had not originally planned it. Among all the dishes, the one that stood out the most for me was the lechon belly. The crispy skin, the flavorful meat, and the perfect seasoning made it unforgettable. Even now, I still find myself craving that crispy texture and rich taste. It was one of those foods that not only satisfies your hunger but also leaves an impression, something you would happily go back for if given the chance. Food has a way of bringing people together, and that night it did exactly that. We all sat together, ate until we were full, and celebrated with smiles and stories. The simple joy of eating with people you care about, without worrying about school for a few hours, was refreshing. ![IMG_5666.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/Eoptws53QS3voMNXLeb6YQt5UsSTyLrL7FiGCyJDyBCFUsef41nZ1NN4i6QG3xSM3So.jpeg) ![IMG_5667.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/23xyZZkM8ByjdEGAwFFAPwUb5kHWB7pReah8jJ444DRRbFHXNZ3Q1XygxN3DwHq8CvweJ.jpeg) ![IMG_5668.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/Eoc7aEspnzT6YFb9yL66UbfqmYYbbFVtnK89PgivnUEAKZM15t7ENjKTSrfDFeCtcqb.jpeg) Time passed by quickly while I was at the celebration, and before I knew it, the night had already fallen. I ended up going home at around 9 p.m., which was later than my usual time, but it was worth it. Even though I had initially worried about how my parents might feel since I had not asked permission in advance, everything turned out fine. What mattered to me most was that I had been able to unwind and spend meaningful time with my friend. It reminded me that while responsibilities will always be there, we should also allow ourselves small moments of happiness. Life is not just about meeting deadlines and finishing tasks; it is also about creating memories, even in simple celebrations like birthdays. That night, I felt thankful not only for the food and the fun but also for the bond of friendship. My friend had not forgotten about me and included me in her family’s special day, and that meant a lot. Being remembered and invited shows how much someone values you, and it reminded me of the importance of cherishing those who make us feel seen and appreciated. ![IMG_0965.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/EogLunCHHG7DVrKngWzXACxbofU9TEq47q9cb4KaKsZfW1D8msT6stGKKxPENvTxw49.jpeg) Looking back on September 29, I realize it was more than just a busy school day followed by a birthday celebration. It was a day that taught me balance, gratitude, and the importance of small breaks. From morning until afternoon, I had been buried under school tasks, drained from reporting and memorizing, but I endured it with the belief that God was with me through it all. Then, from evening until night, I was reminded of how precious friendships and simple joys are. Sometimes, life has a way of surprising us with unplanned blessings, like an invitation to a celebration, or a dish that makes us smile, or simply being remembered by a friend. That day may not have been grand or extraordinary to others, but to me, it was meaningful. It was a reminder that even on the busiest days, there can be moments of joy waiting for us. It was also proof that balance is necessary in life: to work hard when needed, but also to embrace the times of rest and togetherness. At the end of the day, I went home feeling both exhausted and happy, grateful for the tasks accomplished, the food enjoyed, and the people who made me feel included. ![IMG_5602.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/annie07/23w2q3pRAbLCFNsoyPXhhPyZgu9PjRGLsJKPi8qLh3LFttve6SxEPTL7M2MiWjtdP4w7j.jpeg) Again, I’m annie07 Your beautiful writer ✍️
