The world wants us to be shaped by it but the Bible says, " Don't let the world around you squeeze you into it's own mould ( Romans 12:2a, Phillips ). The antidote is to be born of God and to remain in Him. Every God begotten person conquers the world's ways. The conquering power that brings the world to it's knees is our faith ( 1 John 5:4 ).
Faith is the key to our victory and this faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet seen ( Hebrews 11:1, New Living Translation ). It was faith that enable Moses to divide the Red Sea, through the same faith, the wall of Jericho crumbled before Joshua.
The threat the world present to us today - moral depravity, sicknesses, worry and anxiety, poverty and fear - can be confronted by faith in God. Faith magnifies our God and presents Him as incomparable to every challenges of life, bringing them to their knees. How can we stir up the faith that assures of victory? Simple: " So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" ( Romans 10:17 ). Treasure the word of God and allow it to rule your life. Then, your victory is guaranteed by faith. The just shall live by faith.
