In Indonesia, the center for treating patients infected with coronavirus is at Wisma Atlet Jakarta. This place is a guesthouse for athletes competing in big events like SEA Games and Asia Games. But the Indonesian government changed its function temporarily as a place of care for patients infected with coronavirus.
In this place in addition to patients infected with coronavirus, of course there are also health workers consisting of doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, radiographers, nutritionists, health laboratory workers and environmental health workers. For the smooth running of daily activities also assisted by the Indonesian military. The health workers who work at Wisma Atlet get hotel facilities for lodging. And after undergoing duty for 15 days will also be quarantined at the hotel for 14 days. After that, it will be released and replaced by other health workers.
The health workers assigned at the Wisma Atlet are voluntary health workers recruited from all over Indonesia through their respective profession organizations. Those selected will get transportation facilities, accommodation and incentives. Quite a number of health workers have registered themselves for this noble task, including myself who have also registered, but have not received a call.
Today, our profession organization, the Indonesian Society of Radiographers or better known as PARI, is visiting the Wisma Atlet . The group from PARI was led by general chairman Mr. Sugiyanto and also accompanied by General Secretary Mr. Hidayat Sabaruddin. In addition to visiting the Wisma Atlet, the group from PARI also brought personal protective equipment which will be donated to health workers on duty there.
