Waiting For Breaking The Fast

Aceh is famous for its diversity. Many Acehnese are of Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, Dutch and even Indian descent. In our area there is a village located in Meureudu which is a place for residents of Indian descent. My wife is also of Indian descent, according to her grandmother's confession to me. His grandmother was the 4th generation of the first people to set foot in the area. This means that my wife is the 6th generation of Indian descendants living in Meureudu.

In the current Ramadan, Meureudu, the capital of Pidie Jaya Regency. Aceh, sells a variety of iftar foods, one of which is biryani which is a typical Indian rice. But the biryani in Meureudu is different from the one in India, Biryani in Meureudu has been transformed according to the tastes of our region.

When waiting for breaking the fast, people are very busy passing on the street to buy iftar or just for a walk with a motorized vehicle. But all around me are currently quiet because I am on duty in the hospital. It was very quiet here during the Covid-19 pandemic. But I am very grateful because there was my brother who delivered Biryani to me as food when breaking the fast.
