Our Tron Inspired Container House Tour Video

Well, to say things have been busy here in the mountains of Panama would be an understatement. Over the last few months, we've been working on (and completing) many projects. Life, as they say, is never dull.

We worked on and finished the first of two of our container apartments. This had a specific date that people were arriving, so it had to be done by then. We worked hard for two solid months, including Sunday afternoons and late into the evening most days the last 2 weeks. All other projects took a back seat! Some of my jobs included grouting everything including the lines on the concrete floor, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and then deep cleaning, and sealing the kitchen and bathroom floors that were made of wood. I spent days on my hands and knees!

Over the last week, we've enjoyed participating in the Feast of Booths with our kids. We sleep in tents in our pavilion (since it's rainy season). We had one night where it rained from midnight to 6:00 am, one night where the cats cried all night long (we have since locked in the bathroom in the house at night), one night where the dogs barked a lot, and one night where my mattress (yes, I'm sleeping on a mattress in my tent - ha!) felt especially hard! Tonight is our last night in tents.

33 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths[a] to the Lord. 35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. 36 For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.

37 “These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim as times of holy convocation, for presenting to the Lord food offerings, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its proper day, 38 besides the Lord's Sabbaths and besides your gifts and besides all your vow offerings and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the Lord.

39 “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. 40 And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. 41 You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths, 43 that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 23:33-43

This last week we had friends over to cook hotdogs and smores over the fire. That was fun! We also went to the movies and saw Tron in English. It's been a fun week of celebrating and sleeping outside in a tent.

I have some posts planned about some of the work we've been doing, but I wanted to get this out to show you the progress we've made on the Tron-inspired container apartment. My husband and older sons put together this tour of the apartment with some special added features. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think!
