Greetings, friends Now we can say that the year 2025 is a rich mushroom year. Heavy rains in the second half of August, with a fairly warm temperature regime, gave an impetus to the growth of mushrooms in our forests. I went to visit my son last week. It has already become a tradition to visit the North, in the Arkhangelsk region, in the last days of August, to walk through the forest and go fishing there. Last year, fishing was very successful, but the mushrooms were a complete failure because the forests were dry due to the lack of rain. This year, the situation is completely the opposite - fishing turned out to be unsuccessful, but mushroom hunting was rich.
So, the night before, at dinner, my son said that he had taken the day off and suggested going to the forest in the morning to pick mushrooms. It's not far, just 15 minutes from home, and we wanted to take our granddaughter with us, but Alice said she wanted to meet her friends, whom she hadn't seen all summer.
The morning pleased us with the Sun, but when we arrived in the forest, it began to rain. I won't say that it got in the way of walking through the woods, but it wasn't comfortable.
The rain also made it difficult to take good photos because the mushroom caps were wet and shiny. The wet grass also glistened.
There were really a lot of mushrooms. But most of them were very large, such mushrooms should not be taken home. If we had come to the forest 3 days earlier, then they would have been the right size. But next to such large hats, the size of which reached 25-30 cm, there were mushrooms of the right size.
We only took mushrooms with red hats; we just ignored the others.
But these forests are rich not only in mushrooms, but also in berries such as lingonberries and blueberries.
The lingonberries were not very large, but they were very tasty. It is best to harvest lingonberries in swamps, where they are larger. The blueberry season was already over, and individual berries were visible.
This place is an old allotment, mostly cut down coniferous trees. Instead, birch and aspen trees usually begin to grow rapidly.
The stumps on which the berries grow have not even been removed here. I wonder how many years ago the forest was cut down here?
Кто видит среди деревьев моего сына?
We walked through the forest for no more than 30 minutes, and then we stayed at home and processed mushrooms for about 2 hours. In the evening, we fried mushrooms with potatoes, and we froze the rest of the mushrooms.
