Fungi Friday - Cute little chicken thigh mushrooms

@aquagelas · 2025-08-08 12:44 · FungiFriday

Hi mushroom lovers, today I want to share some more beautiful mushrooms I found to celebrate the #FungiFriday challenge hosted by @ewkaw.

The first beautiful mushroom I found today is a species often called the Chicken Thigh Mushroom, perhaps because its shape closely resembles a chicken thigh. The mushroom I found today was still very small and looked absolutely beautiful. I found this mushroom growing on a dead tree trunk, and they were also growing close to each other.

What makes this mushroom even more beautiful is that the calyx of this mushroom looks like it has very beautiful feathers. At a glance, if you look closely, these feathers look very similar to chicken feathers. The calyx of this mushroom also looks beautiful and appears closed. This is a truly beautiful mushroom that makes me really enjoy looking at it.

Successfully finding this beautiful mushroom was truly a joy for me. Hopefully, I can find more beautiful mushroom species like this in the future. Not just one beautiful mushroom, today I also found another one that left me completely amazed.

The second mushroom I found today is likely called the Gymnopilus junonius mushroom. This mushroom truly looks stunning, with its beautiful orange color. When I found it, it was still very small, but it already looked incredibly beautiful.

These mushrooms appear to be growing overlapping, making them truly look like a family. I'm glad I managed to find this beautiful mushroom at the right time, as it also wilts very easily.

This is the beautiful mushroom I can share with my friends this Friday. Thank you to everyone who visited my mushroom post today.
