The Art of POSH: Improving My Rep Score on Reddit
As we all know, Hive needs visibility.
Any initiative that aims to spread the name of Hive to as many people as possible is always welcome, especially if the cost of such an operation is proportional and consistent with the results achieved: visibility yes, but spending hundreds of thousands of dollars completely at random no – *on this point I recommend reading some posts written by @blanchy, like [this one](https://peakd.com/hive/@blanchy/valueplan-1st-half-payouts-2025-part-i-make-a-wish-foundation), which are extremely interesting… and depressing*.
On Hive, however, among several initiatives that cost a lot and seem to achieve little, there are also some that are delivering good results, such as the **POSH** project, created by @acidyo, whose goal is to reward the activity of users who promote Hive on web 2.0 social platforms.

Currently POSH supports two platforms, **Reddit** and **BlueSky**, and it’s on the first of these two that I’d like to focus.
## RedditPosh Just a few days ago, I came across a [very useful post](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@tsnaks/redditposh-earn-hive-through-sharing-on-reddit) by @tsnaks (*which I recommend reading if you want to know more in detail about RedditPosh*) that helped me better understand how the project works: not that it’s anything complicated (basically it’s just about sharing links to Hive posts on Reddit), but by reading this post I got a clearer idea of **how** to share them and **what** can be shared. For example, I had no idea it was possible to share posts regardless of their publication date. I also didn’t know that simply copying the title of a post and placing the link below it was enough to create a valid, and potentially appreciable, post on Reddit. Small things, yes, but overall they made me realize how sharing Hive posts on Reddit is really… **simple**. So simple that I truly feel I’ve missed a great opportunity so far to help Hive – *and maybe earn some extra rewards too, thanks to the contests organized by @x-rain*. ## Rolling up my sleeves That’s why I decided to get to work, trying to understand how Reddit works and what’s needed to publish posts capable of collecting lots of views for Hive! And among the first things I’m beginning to realize is that Reddit tries to do some “screening” among users, trying to catch bots and spam before they completely flood the platform. Part of this work is done through a **reputation** system divided into 5 levels: lowest, low, moderate, high and highest. In my case, until yesterday, my reputation was at the lowest level, perhaps due to the fact that I had almost never used my profile:  This prevents me from posting in certain communities and greatly limits my ability to make good shares, especially considering that link-sharing alone can lead to bans or post removals, so adding extra restrictions on top of that doesn’t help at all… So I started commenting on other people’s posts – *obviously with thoughtful and meaningful comments* – and publishing a couple of my own, hoping to get some upvotes and improve my reputation… …and it’s already starting to happen!  My reputation now has a score equal to **moderate**, which may not be much better… but it’s a step in the right direction! In the coming days I’ll keep trying to interact and share a few more posts, so I can continue improving my reputation and, perhaps, discover new stuff that can help me make my shares more effective and useful for Hive! If you haven’t already, my advice is to sign up on [hiveposh.com](https://hiveposh.com/) – *you can log in with Hive Keychain* – and connect your social accounts – *like Reddit* – so you can also try sharing some posts, yours or those of other users, and help increase Hive’s visibility on the web!

L'Arte del POSH: Migliorando la Mia Reputazione su Reddit
Come ben sappiamo, Hive ha bisogno di visibilità.
Ogni iniziativa che si pone come scopo quello di portare il nome di Hive a conoscenza di quante più persone possibile è sempre la benvenuta, soprattutto se il costo di questa operazione è proporzionale e coerente con i risultati ottenuti: visibilità sì, ma spendere centinaia di migliaia di dollari completamente a caso no - *a riguardo vi consiglio di leggervi qualcuno dei post scritti da @blanchy, come [questo](https://peakd.com/hive/@blanchy/valueplan-1st-half-payouts-2025-part-i-make-a-wish-foundation), che sono estremamente interessanti... e deprimenti*.
Su Hive, però, in mezzo a diverse iniziative che costano molto e sembrano ottenere poco, ce ne sono anche alcune che stanno ottenendo dei buoni risultati, come il progetto **POSH**, ideato da @acidyo, il cui scopo è quello di premiare l'attività di quegli utenti che promuovono Hive sui social del web 2.0.

## RedditPosh Giusto qualche giorno fa mi sono infatti ritrovato a leggere un [utilissimo post](https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@tsnaks/redditposh-earn-hive-through-sharing-on-reddit) di @tsnaks (*di cui vi consiglio la cui lettura se volete saperne più in dettaglio di RedditPosh*) che mi ha aiutato a comprendere meglio il funzionamento del progetto: non che ci sia nulla di complicato (di base si tratta solo di condividere link a post di Hive su Reddit), ma leggendo questo post mi sono fatto un'idea di **come** condividerli e di **cosa** sia possibile condividere. Ad esempio, non avevo idea che fosse possibile condividere post a prescindere dalla loro data di pubblicazione. Non sapevo neanche che fosse sufficiente copiare il titolo di un post ed inserirvi sotto il link per creare un valido, ed apprezzabile, post su Reddit. Insomma, piccole cose, sì, ma che nel complesso mi hanno fatto realizzare come condividere post di Hive su Reddit sia davvero... **semplice**. Talmente semplice che mi sembra davvero di aver perso finora una buonissima occasione per aiutare Hive - *ed ottenere magari qualche ricompensa extra, anche grazie ai contest organizzati da @x-rain*. ## Rimboccarsi le maniche Ecco perchè ho deciso di mettermi all'opera, provando a capire come funziona Reddit e cosa sia necessario fare per pubblicare post capaci di collezionare tante views per Hive! E tra le prime cose che sto iniziando a capire c'è il fatto che Reddit - *giustamente* - tenta di fare un po' di "selezione" tra gli utenti, provando ad intercettare bot e spam prima che intasino del tutto la piattaforma. Parte di questo lavoro viene svolto grazie ad un sistema di **reputazione** suddiviso in 5 gradi: lowest, low, moderate, high ed highest. Nel mio caso, la mia reputazione era, fino a ieri, al livello più basso, complice forse il fatto che non avevo praticamente mai usato il mio profilo:  Ciò mi impedisce di pubblicare in determinate community e limita notevolmente la mia capacità di effettuare delle buone condivisioni, anche visto e considerato che condividere link già di per sè può portare al ban o alla cancellazione del post, per cui aggiungere a questo ulteriori limiti non è minimamente d'aiuto... Mi sono messo quindi a commentare un po' di post altrui - *ovviamente con commenti sensati e "pensati"* - ed a pubblicarne un paio di miei, con la speranza di ricevere qualche upvote e migliorare la mia reputazione... ... cosa che sta già cominciando ad avvenire!  La mia reputazione ha infatti adesso un punteggio uguale a **moderate**, che non sarà chissà quanto meglio... ma è un passo nella giusta direzione! Nei prossimi giorni continuerò a cercare di interagire e condividere qualche nuovo post, così da provare a migliorare sempre più la mia reputazione e scoprire eventuali nuove cose che possano aiutarmi a rendere le mie condivisioni sempre più efficaci ed utili per Hive!
