Hello, dear hivers!
What are your cravings today? I'd like to share what's mine.

It's gonna be my first time to post in this awesome community! I just want to share with you how happy my big tummy is for being able to satisfy my craving for today.
As a breastfeeding mom of a one-year-old baby, I find food a simple treat for the little hard work I do for feeding my daughter around the clock.
I'm really craving for Puto's kutsinta a few days back. This is a native delicacy famous in the Philippines, yet it's not readily available for sale even in nearby places.
I would usually need to go to the nearby wet market, where there are fixed stalls, if I want to buy steamed cakes like these.
It's just a few-minute walk, yet I have a long list of things to do, so going there isn't an option.
I'm not losing hope since we also have a street vendor who sells puto't kutsinta on his bike with these delicacies.
So my last resort is to wait for the manong (term we use to address an older man) who would normally call the attention of the customers via a potpot horn. Or sometimes they would simply shout 'Puto, kutsinta!'.
Another consideration is that I live in an apartment on the second floor, so regardless of whether I can run fast, sometimes the kuya would just pass along our apartment building if he couln't hear me calling. Not knowing that one hungry lady is dying to buy his puto't kutsinta 🤣
But this day is my lucky day! Upon hearing the sound of the potpot, I hurriedly ran so fast (thank to my adrenaline rush) and called the attention of the vendor! I almost shouted at the top of my lungs, calling him, "Manooong!!!" Finally, I got his attention!
I had the biggest smile when I saw him turn around. You know how it feels when you finally can reach what you've been wanting?
This is just a simple craving of a hungry breastfeeding mom, yet for me it's already a small win. My heart was jumpy and I would finally eat my cravings (and I tell you my mouth is drooling while he was serving my order).

Looking back, puto't kutsinta is usually topped with grated coconut, yet nowadays yema or dulce de leche is the modern topping. This yema is so good that I forgot to ask for the grated coconut.

So I missed the full experience of having two toppings (sigh). But I think it's still okay since Dulce is perfectly compatible with both the steamed cakes.

I normally request a mix of both grated coconut and yema, mix them on top of the steamed cakes, and swallow it as a whole.
You know, If there's one Filipino snack that I always crave, it's really the puto't kutsinta.

I just love the gelatinous texture of kutsinta and the soft and fluffy texture of puto.
Oh, I just want to confess, I've almost eaten up all without sharing them to my husband. Thank goodness he knows that it's one of my top-pick foods.
Thanks for reading my blog. I wish you all your cravings satisfied for today! Let's celebrate our small wins.
