What’s your favorite day of the week?

For me, Sunday is the best!

It’s always special in our little family. When it’s Sunday, I am excited by the tone of an alarm clock.

I am anticipating, as always, that we would have fun over simple moments together.

Our Sunday morning would normally start with the aroma of coffee.

Besides that the barking of the dogs could be heard, including the taho vendor on the street.

It’s sort of a crazy morning, yet there’s an excitement to prepare for the Sunday worship service.

My husband would normally prepare a good breakfast to jumpstart our day.

He would normally cook our all-time favorite which is champorado.

So even though we are a little bit sleepy, to prepare for the day, our senses would be awakened by the delicious breakfast.

The church is in the mall, so it's like hitting two birds with one stone.

After the Sunday church, we would have our sweet treat and groceries at the supermarket.

The church is bright and filled with welcoming and smiling faces.

We would sing our worship song and listen to a good message that keeps us grounded.

After the service, one of the best parts that I look forward to is my husband’s coffee treat.

Nothing grand but just a cup of coffee. Despite the simple treat, I fully appreciate the effort to make me feel special.

He said that it’s his way to thank me for the whole week of work at home.

We walk together while holding a cup of coffee and stroll around while talking about random things such as school, work, funny and silly things.

We keep on walking and talking while pushing the baby in her stroller, smiling bubbling, and saying “papa” which entertained us.

As we headed home, I whispered to heaven, “thank you!” For having the simple blessings: coffee, family, love, and spiritual empowerment.
