Sunday Morning.
We woke up quite early this Sunday morning. My youngest has been coughing the past 2 weeks so I thought a quick dip at the beach would be good.
Before it gets scorching hot, we marched out and headed to the not-so-faraway Bateen Beach. There were actually quite a number of people already there.
Actually, at 7.30am, the water was nice and warm. The sun, not yet too high up and not yet going after us to roast us all. 🌞
It was a shame I did not bring any swimming clothes. It was actually very nice! We stayed for just an hour. We promised we'll come back the next day and would be earlier.
Crazy hot. 🔥
The rest of the day was crazy hot. And Humid. Something to expect in the UAE during these months. The past days were windy and sandy. This time, guess what the forecast was?!
RAIN.
Rain the the midst of summer in the desert.
To wash or not to wash?
If you go to find my car in the parking lot, you would probably not find it. Having been exposed to the harsh weather the past week, it almost already had blended with nature. 🏜
Covered with layers of dust strengthened by the water from the humid nights. My car already developed a crusty outer layer. And it was screaming, "Wash me please!"
Almost close to sunset, when the sun was slowly retreating, I heeded, albeit hesitantly. I observed the skies and the looming clouds also signaled rain.
"What if I just wait for the rain to wash my car?"
What a thought. Anyway, I proceeded to wash the car, silently praying for it not to rain. For what a heartbreak it would be if it would rain after I wash the car. 😵💫
After that, I went inside the house and saw the news of heavy rains just outside the city at the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road. It was pouring! I peeked outside. Whew! Thankfully, it did not rain where we were.
Well, rain in the coming days won't hurt. Some reprieve from the extreme heat is welcome. Just not right after I wash my car. 😅
