Today in the morning I found this beauty that is about to disappear. Fortunately some flies and insects are already doing their job to generate the cycle of this fungus.
It is a phallic shaped fungus of the order Phallales, its birth is due to an egg-like capsule inside the soil and when it emerges it does so in this phallic shape. It has a foul odor or similar to rotting meat which attracts flies and insects that seduced by these odors land on the fungus so that they disperse their spores and thus be born again in another place.
During these rainy days in Venezuela many mushrooms appear, last year I had the opportunity to photograph a bridal veil mushroom that also has a phallic shape but this one has a net that resembles a bridal veil, it also has a foul smell and has the same technique of attracting insects so that they spread the spores elsewhere.
Let's see how many mushrooms I can photograph this season.
