A Touch of Street Art – Lines of Love Hits the Wall

A few years back, a dear friend came to visit. She’d always wanted to try wheatpasting but never had the chance. So I mixed up a fresh batch of my special glue, printed a few of my classic “Lines of Love” designs, and we hit the streets of downtown Montreal. Funny thing is, I never really shared that moment until now.

I paint on walls every year, mostly with brushes and spray cans. But this was one of the first times I tried wheatpasting in my own city. As much as I’ve always loved it, I’ve come to feel it’s messier than paint, and somehow, pasting printed designs just doesn’t hit the same anymore. Back then, I had time to create new pieces, one by one. Now, I crave large-scale, one-of-a-kind works, not repeating the same image across town. I guess we evolve.

Still, that day was a blast. The rush, the laughter, the adrenaline. What stayed with me most was seeing how people reacted, the way art connects on the street, quietly and deeply. That’s the real gift. Giving love back to the city. Always.

It was spontaneous and quick, a few heartfelt pieces on the wall and we were done. There’s something beautiful about sharing the act, passing on the process, and leaving behind a quiet message of love in the city’s pulse.

Sometimes the best moments are simple, shared, and stick.
