All the good little sheep need a shepherd. The world is a scary ass place without one. Am I right? Like, we couldn't possibly know where to go or when to eat and sleep without some benevolent superior to guide us. If we didn't have someone better and smarter than us telling us what to do, we would be lost in our freedom and cursed to control our own lives. We might not even know which mostly harmless things we should afraid of.
Luckily, there is no shortage of would-be shepherds who will selflessly guide us through this terrifying life and I can only imagine that they do it because they truly love us. I can't even think of any reasons that CNN, Google, or the political establishment might have to mislead us. It's not like they've ever told us destructive lies and enacted destructive policies based on those lies in the past. Weed really does kill people so we need to lock them up to protect them from themselves. If they resist, we need to kill them for their protection too. That Iraq war was a great idea because there really were weapons of mass destruction there, only they were invisible so they were like super hard for us to find. Covid is the greatest threat facing humanity and that vaccine isn't at all sketchy. We can tell that is extremely true too because everyone really wants to make sure we take some unknown number of our extra safe and well tested shots whether we want them or not. When the shepherd leads us to slaughter, that is an act of love too, somehow. That's what they'll say, anyway.
I'm not your shepherd. I don't have the answers to the world's problems and I can't tell you how to live a safer and happier life. I will say this though: When you agree to be guided by someone, they will only lead you to where they want you to go. Maybe they mean to help you find greener pastures but sometimes they want to slit your throat. Either choose freedom or choose your shepherds wisely.
