IMG_20200508_011909010101.jpeg To date, philosophy and art have always been concerned with the 'history of beauty', especially religions. He will probably be interested in 'beauty' after today. Understandably, there is one side to this. Although humanity is against its nature, it has always favored beauty. In my opinion, it is necessary to look at the history of ugliness.

In the 19th century, Julia Pastrana decorated the posters of freak performances as "The World's Most Ugly Woman". He was brought to Europe and performed in accordance with the Victorian norms: He sang, danced, spoke foreign languages, underwent medical examinations ... He was labeled as "ugly" both while alive and after his death.

The word "ugly" has established friendly relations with many words to date. And left behind traces of meaning such as monstrous, grotesque, deformed, freak, degenerate, and disabled. The story of ugliness; Aristotle, who defines women as 'deformed' men, medieval stories that tell those who turned from witches to beauty. 18th century cartoons. 19th century 'freak' shows. 20th century 'degenerate' art. And it extends to many sources such as Brutalist architecture. Ugliness has long challenged aesthetics and taste. complicated the meaning of being beautiful and precious. The word "ugly" is usually meant to deteriorate, but with a growing suspicion of aesthetic categories in recent years. It is cared for. It is easy to turn any external feature into a sign of ugliness or a series of situation analysis. Jazz and rock'n'roll were also described as 'ugly' music, once seen as a threat to disrupt generations.

Some artists have adopted this word against all these ugly scribbles. Painter Paul Gauguin described ugliness as "the cornerstone of our modern art." The adoption of the word ugly helped to spread the negative charge on it.

Anyway, this drawing was really ugly 😂I have to admit that I was just going to draw a hippie star. This was on my mind. But watch how he became the goddess of ugliness. this is bad!
