Lore
The mosscloack is a forest spirit that is fascinated by all things mossy and fungi. They're wrapped in a cloak of forest loam that holds spores of many of the forests fungi and mushrooms. Often seen in swampy mossy places their considered a sign of rebirth and change. It's considered a good omen to see one as they are a sign of growth, positive change and healing.
I'm incredibly happy with this one. I think I got the soft mossy feel and the eerie but not creepy forest feeling. I experimented with some techniques.
The making of!
I began with a sketch. I looked up a lot of pictures of woods and also people squatting. I was really happy with the sketch even. Since starting to challenge myself to draw more I've been feeling like I have def improved.

I added colour to the trees. I started with a fairly dark brown and green since I wanted it to be end up being rather more to evening/dusk feel to it. Not night night but nightish. I also changed the background to a midtone so contrast with the background wouldn't be quite so much.

I started with a dark fog stuff.

Then I played around with the fog effect a whole bunch more.

And some mossy rocks!

MORE GREEN and also some cute mushrooms.

I decided I wanted the little revine to stick out a bit.
And the atmosphere is about what I want it so it was time to start the character.

I started with earthy colours, and decided they'd be in sandles(I was tempted to do barefoot but didn't like it)
then I added some shading. I did the shading on the same layer as the line work for the character sketch.

Then I added a bit more stuff in the way of shading and cleaning up line work.

I was pretty happy with the overall character and stuff. So I added some fungi and stuff to the cloak.

However, it felt a bit empty so I did some fog, and I kinda wanted to add some more light spots to draw the eye so I added some glints to the water.
