I am happy to greet you here and bring you a nice step by step of the mini-garden I made with my neighbor, a nice moment full of coffee, laughter and rain. Espero, de todo corazón, que disfruten la lectura y les guste el resultado final del lindo jardincito que hice con mi amiga, la que les mencioné anteriormente que me había incentivado a la cultura de los cactus y suculentas. ---  --- The first thing I did was, of course, a nice, steaming cup of coffee for the rainy day outside the window. Nothing like a pure coffee to start the day off right. I must admit that I had no idea that I would end up visiting my friend that day and doing a mini-garden with her. My friend, whose name is Betina, lives very close to my house, a plant-loving lady with a very nice garden. That day, when I went out in front of my house, I noticed that she was in her garden, watering some plants. I did not hesitate to approach her and say hello. When I got to where she was, I noticed that she had some nice empty pots and the idea came to my mind. I told her about making a mini-garden to share with you and it was time to get down to work. Attached are pictures of the coffee I had brought Betina and her cute little dog named Paco. >Lo primero que hice fue, por supuesto, una buena y humeante taza de café para el lluvioso día que se asomaba por la ventana. Nada como un café puro para empezar bien el día. Debo admitir que no tenía ni idea que ese día terminaría visitando a mi amiga y haciendo un mini-jardín con ella. > >Mi amiga, cuyo nombre es Betina, vive muy cerca de mi casa, una señora amante de las plantas y con un muy lindo jardín. Ese día, cuando salí al frente de mi casa, pude notar que ella estaba en su jardín, regando algunas plantas. No dude en acercarme a ella y saludarla. Cuando llegué donde estaba ella, me di cuenta que tenía algunos lindos materos vacíos y la idea llegó a mi cabeza. Le comenté acerca de hacer un mini-jardín para poder compartirlo acá con ustedes y, era hora de ponernos manos a la obra. Adjunto fotos del café que le había llevado a Betina y del lindo perrito de ella, llamado Paco.  |  --|--

The first thing we did was the soil that we would use for this mini-garden. We prepared it with two tablespoons of black soil, one tablespoon of sand and one tablespoon of clay. In this recipe we did not add sticks or stones; the sand was enough to filter the water and prevent it from stagnating. Besides, the pots had holes in the bottom, so stagnant water would not be a problem. We gathered all the materials, among them: potting soil, prepared soil, and the plants we would use. Now we would begin to assemble the little gardens, and then decorate them. >Lo primero que hicimos fue la tierra que usaríamos para este mini-jardín. La preparamos con dos cucharadas de tierra negra, una cucharada de arena y una cucharada de arcilla. En esta receta no añadimos palos ni piedras, con la arena era suficiente para filtrar el agua y que no se estancara. Además, los materos tenían huecos en el fondo, el agua estancada no sería problema. > >Reunimos los materiales, entre ellos: Materos, tierra preparada, las plantas que usaríamos. Ahora sí empezaríamos a armar los jardincitos, para luego decorarlos.  |  --|--

We started pouring the soil into the pots, enough to leave enough space to plant our beautiful little plants. A few sips of coffee later and we decided how many plants we wanted in that mini-garden and what they would be. The pot was a bit spacious, so it would be no problem to put at least three or four. After a good look at the prospects in front of us, we decided on four and placed them harmoniously in the brown pot. We used two cute cacti (I'm obsessed with the small round one), a succulent and another little plant whose name I can't remember. >Empezamos echando la tierra en los materos, la cantidad suficiente como para que quedara el espacio para sembrar a nuestras lindas plantitas. Algunos sorbos de café después y nos pusimos que cantidad de plantas queríamos en aquel mini-jardín y cuáles serían. El matero era un poco espacioso, entonces no habría problema en poner al menos tres o cuatro. > >Luego de una buena ojeada a los prospectos que teníamos frente a nosotros, decidimos que serían cuatro y los ubicamos de forma armoniosa en el matero marrón. Usamos dos lindos cactus (estoy obsesionado con el pequeño y redondo), una suculenta y otra pequeña plantita cuyo nombre no puedo recordar.  |  --|--

Just when I started to place the little stones in the mini-garden, starting the decoration, the sky was quite gray and the drops started to fall. I quickly finished placing the small stones and we went inside her house to wait for the sun to come back. Obviously we had one more coffee, because the cold and the rain were the perfect excuse. We gossiped for quite a while we waited and, with Paco being a nuisance, we had a good laugh. It was a long time before the sun came out again and I could take the photos of the mini-garden with the stones. >Justo cuando empecé a colocar las piedritas en el mini-jardín, empezando la decoración, el cielo estaba bastante gris y las gotas empezaron a caer. Terminé rápido de poner las pequeñas piedras y entramos a su casa para esperar a que volviera el sol. > >Obviamente que nos tomamos un café más, porque el frío y la lluvia eran la excusa perfecta. Echamos chisme un buen rato mientras esperábamos y, con Paco de fastidioso, nos reímos un buen rato. > >Pasó un largo tiempo antes de que el sol saliera de nuevo y pudiera sacar las fotos del matero con las piedras.  |  --|--

I wanted to decorate it with shells, give it a marine touch and take advantage of the small ornaments that Betina had. Once I placed them in the pot, I realized that some of the little plants had dirt on them and needed to be cleaned. I asked Betina to give me an old toothbrush so I could remove the dirt and make them more aesthetic. After I cleaned them, I started to take nice pictures of them for the final result and... This is how it turned out! >Le quise dar decoraciones con conchas, darle un toque marino y aprovechar los pequeños adornos que tenía Betina. Una vez los ubiqué en el matero, me di cuenta que algunas plantitas tenían tierra y era necesario limpiarlas. > >Le pedí a Betina que me diera un cepillo de dientes viejo para poder quitarles esa tierra y que quedara más estético. > >Luego de que las limpiara, empecé a sacarles lindas fotos para el resultado final y… ¡Así quedó! --- 🌵***FINAL RESULT***🌵 - ---  --- I hope you liked how my beautiful mini garden that I made together with my neighbor and friend turned out.
