The Income Tax Department of India just used satellite images to catch a farmer who claimed 7 lakh rupees per acre as agriculture income and this was revealed to be a tax fraud.

Now in India, agriculture income is completely tax free as it should be but this also cannot be denied that many people use this loophole to avoid paying their taxes. This is something the rich often abuse and it seems now there might be a solution out of this.

In the past few days, nearly 50 individuals reporting over 50 lakh yearly or 5 lakh per acre have received notices regarding their false claim of income from Agriculture.

But it seems the satellites revealed many lands aren't even being farmed at all and in some cases people have converted agricultural land into real estate land and still claim for the Zero tax for Agricultural Income.

Now one tax evader even converted farmland into residential plots, sold them and still claimed tax exemption. This has just been a loophole that wealthy parties use to claim tax relief but I feel like that might be shifting with these satellite imaging technology.

In my opinion India is primarily a farming First Nation and no taxes for farmers is an absolute necessity but it is also necessary to identify fake farmers who just want to benefit from the Tax relief feature.
