Hi, I am Arveno from Surabaya city. In this content i want to share about church and some activity inside to my Son. Actually this is his task to attend at church. But, since he is still 6 years old. whether you want it or not, me and my wife need to attend to church too. I dont know why his school giving this task. Maybe just because to make the parents remember that they need to going to church and be closer to Jesus instead of closer to work and stress. So, yeah after last week my son got sick and coincide with the Indonesia Riot. Then we are not going to church last week. And this week we need to attend to church or my son task will be failed in the next semester.
At first, my son as usual he kinda excited to be in church since this is the third time going to church. But, what he does not like is he need to be silent and it is really hard for him. He is kinda super extrovert (or all kids are like that. LOL). So, at first they asking so many questiong to me about this mass. And at some point like when we are declare the shahada prayer, seems that my son want to participate but he does not know what the prayer is. So, i repeat slowly and ask him to follow me. I think he will getting used after several times doing it. Same like me i dont learn in particular, just following the mass will make me memorized the mass it self. And sometimes my wife that teaching my son how to talk and how to sing. Yeah since my voice is not good, i ever singing in church.
And this time we are did not get seat at downstairs, so we need to go upstairs and sit in there. We cannot see what happened at podium but we can see it through monitor. And apparently this week this church having big event. Some people got baptism and some of them receive chrism. And as far as i remember this ceremony kinda take a long time. At first, my son always asking and wondering what happened downstairs. But, i forbid my son looking through window. I dont think people will comfortable with that situation where my son looking through window. So, thats why my son kinda confused what this ceremony and why the Father talk too much and seems doing differently.
And as i predicted, this ceremony mass this week is longer than usual, it tooks more than 2 hours. And what makes this mass hard is to control my son boredom. When the Father took time to baptism people and doing same repetition, my son impatient and starting to said that he is hungry. And yeah we never eat first before going to church since it might be my wife asking to eat outside. And this time yes, we are eating outside too at Fusia. I dont make content about it since i already made it. The taste is still same and my wife ordered the same menu. And after the mass finished. That is the time my son face starting to bright after seen him face wrinkled all the time.
And here we are, the most important part in this mass, that is collecting Father signature for School task. Apparently, this task is not only for my son school. Many kids gathered here event some college student gathered there too and collecting the signature. I think this task is kinda good for reminding the parents to going back to church. I mean yes, after married, i am kinda losing time to go to church. I am kinda busy with work and try to do work life balance. But, it seems never happened. Especially after my son born. It hard to arrange and utilize my time. I felt that time flew so fast even too fast for me. And i felt burn out too sometimes since i need to take my rest time to do working. Thats why i think this task can be great idea. It literally gives me chance to rest a little while. Since other people will always understand when we are saying going to pray. And i think i will make church as weekly escape from work and time to break for all the burden.
