Good day hivians. I hope everyone is doing good.
Every morning I do the same routine. One of them is to water the plants on the balcony. There are times that I would talk to them and voice out my concerns. Especially to the one that is not doing well. I would ask if it still wants to live or not. You know that if they are not doing good my boss would stress and blame it on me. By the way we have cut down the lemon tree. It still grows some new leaves but insects keep attacking it. The new leaves that would sprout wouldn't make it and would just dried up and disappear. Plus the caterpillar that keeps eating the old leaves😖. I put fertilizer to help it fight and grow but my boss doesn't have the patience to wait for it. The execution took place after my Holiday back home. That's the term they use😬 to execute the lemon tree. Two days after I came back she cut it down. We used a saw and we both take turn in cutting the branches. She just waited for me to help her and to say goodbye to it. I feel sorry for it but if I would insist on keeping it I'm not sure if it would bounce back. It would stress me for sure every time she would see it and it's not growing well. There was a time when she asked for an explanation why the plants are not doing good. I just played a deaf ear to her that time but I want to ask her if her plants can talk. So I can explain to her what was going on with them. Luckily I hold my tongue. I just walked away and smiled silently at the thought of it. Until now no explanation was given😬.
This plant starts to deteriorate after we cut down the lemon tree. It was growing so healthy before. The tree was standing in front of it before and it's giving it shade. They've been together for almost four years and I was thinking that maybe it was mourning the loss of its friend. Maybe they have feelings. Now we put the olive tree in the spot that the lemon vacated.
While watering the plants I would look for the sunrise and stay there for a while. It looks like it would be a hot day. Though the weather changes from time to time.
Looking down the building I saw students going and waiting for their school bus. Some are accompanied by their nanny and some people are going to work. It's always a busy morning for most people. Now it's almost empty because it's Sunday. Silent and calm.
Same with this tennis court. No one's there playing or practicing. On other days I would see it crowded with a lot of balls scattered around. This is just one of my morning routines that's brings either smile or frown to my face😁.
