WELCOME TO MY GARDEN (8).jpg

“Gardening isn’t just a hobby, but a way of living”.

Welcome to my garden, a garden developed with patience, love, and care. I grew up in a province where my parents were both farmers. We used to live a simple life yet we had bountiful supplies of fresh vegetables and healthy fruits. We don’t need to spend money for our everyday consumption of veggies, yes, we may not eat the most popular kinds of vegetables and fruits, but we always believe that natural and organic vegetables are the healthiest.

When I got married, we were blessed to have a small backyard where I could plant some vegetables. It doesn’t just satisfy my cravings for fresh vegetables but it also reduces our food expenses. Yes, planting cannot give instant money and bountiful harvest in just a week because, we need to dig and fertilized the soil first. After that we patiently wait for our seeds to sprout, and we pour extra time to take good care of the seedlings until it becomes ready to be planted outside to the ground where they will used to sunlight and some pests.

The journey of a gardener continuously grows along with the plant, and the sweetest pay-off will be the bountiful harvest that never ends as long as the plant is still alive and well maintain. And the process of planting should not end also make sure of sustainable harvests.

When you are living in tropical countries like Philippines, the best vegetables to plant are the ones that produces more harvest for a long period of time like eggplant, sweet potato tops, moringa, beans, and spinach.

Indeed, if we give out patience, love and care to plants they will provide more fruits and harvests for us.

I’ve been thinking also, that if I could invite somebody from HIVE to visit my garden, I would invite Taylor Swift. During her visit to my garden, I would personally prepare food for her and most of the ingredients will be coming from my garden. I would make her feel the vibes and the taste of home-grown vegetables nurture with love. I would ask her also to make a song out of her personal experience from my garden. I believed that with her powerful voice, she could make a great impact to the world and her song could inspire more people to do gardening in their own way.

I attached my personally captured photos and enhanced with Canva.
