Maha Bandula Park – A Sculpture of Yali

----- -----  A figure often use in architecture, combine the graceful body of a lion with the resemblance of a cat, the head of a horse, and the tusks of an elephant, is a sculpture called YALI. You can see it in Maha Bandula Park, Yangon, Myanmar. I didn't expect to find a Yali monument here. It seems like something so important that it's placed in the center of Yangon. Is this art that reflects the strength of Yangon, like Yali?      It was a bright morning. After I had rested from yesterday, slept soundly the night before, and planned to explore Yangon today, I had gathered enough energy by getting at least eight hours of rest. I thought I'd had plenty of energy, but in fact, I hadn't had breakfast yet, as breakfast was expected at the hotel at 8:00 AM. I was ready by 6:00 AM and decided to explore the area. We found a hotel not far from the heart of Yangon for one reason: I wanted a city trip and to experience the local vibe. It was certainly a pleasant experience, but since my breakfast was already early, I was at a loss for what to do. So, I looked at the map and decided to kill time by visiting a few places while holding back my hunger.        So I discovered this is a public space with open greenery in Yangon. Its truly a clean spot, because of the lush greenery and the several fountains that create a pleasant, lively atmosphere, not the sound of horns or the hustle and bustle of the city. Maha Bandula Park is locate right between five places of worship: Sule Pagoda, Emmanuel Church, Yangon City Hall, and many other important buildings in the city. The weather so beautiful that morning, and we very fortunate to have such a momentous occasion to enjoy, especially since Yangon is a city that is difficult for tourists and deserves to be celebrated. Unfortunately, I only had two days here.         The highlight of Maha Bandula Park is a large pillar like monument with Burmese writing on it. I honestly didn't understand any words, as there's no English language available, but even using an app to look up the meaning of the writing didn't seem very clear. So, I decided to just explore the area, happily. Maha Bandula Park bustling with people enjoy this public facility, walking, jogging, some doing yoga, and even bringing their dogs to play. Itnot overly crowded, though, as it was a weekday.
